CommitmentsA responsible and demanding manufacturer
The Canon Group has put many years of dedicated work into making the Canon spirit a reality and it will continue to promote the Kyosei and San-ji principles well into the future. At Canon Bretagne, we live our values and demonstrate these guiding principles through our employees' commitment in production methods. These principles form the basis for our relationships with our partners, and define our concern for the environment at all levels of production.
Environmental awareness
The environment is a major concern for Canon and we elaborated our own Environmental Charter to minimise our impact. In our operations, we develop environmentally conscious products by using energy-efficient technology, by reducing the use of chemical substances and by maximising resource efficiency. Beyond these measures, Canon has taken part in great environmental projects: teaming up with WWF (World Wildlife Fund for Nature) and practicing GREEN purchases are just a few examples. Canon Bretagne's recycling activities (since 1997) and total commitment to protect the environment perfectly illustrate the Group's environmental awareness. Moreover, the 1995 ISO 14001 certification of the production site of Liffré shows Canon Bretagne's excellent environmental management system. This certification is regularly renewed.

Customer satisfaction
Canon has acquired its reputation through the consistently high product quality and reliable methods. Relying on its significant industrial experience, it complies with the most demanding standards, and fulfils regulatory obligations in advance in order to meet its customers’ needs. For Canon Bretagne, ensuring the reliability of parts and products is not just a question of a final inspection. All key monitoring points (for reliability and safety) are verified throughout the manufacturing process. Certified ISO 9001 since 1993, Canon Bretagne is constantly increasing the number of its quality management certificates in various sectors, such as the automotive (ISO TS 16949) and medical (ISO 13485 : current).
Constant innovation
Canon’s constant growth is based on the development of original products with a strong element of added value, a strategy based on diversification, and the perfecting of new technologies in line with the future expectations of customers. For Canon Bretagne, innovation is concentrated in three areas: technological innovation, human resources and production methods. Latest-generation robots, high-performance equipment and cutting-edge techniques are used to manufacture the products for which Canon Bretagne is responsible. Kaizen (or suggestions) and quality circles create a permanent source of improvement through the active participation of staff. These methods encourage the involvement and commitment of all in the steady evolution of the production system. Reflecting a rigorous organisational approach, Canon Bretagne implements the Canon Production System, which aims to improve performance constantly, with a view to optimum customer satisfaction (respect for the environment and for quality, and reduction in costs and deadlines).
